Martha "Marty" Ann Denney, 63, of Springfield, passed away due to cancer at 7:16 a.m. on Monday, October 21, 2013 at Springfield Memorial Medical Center. Marty was born January 8, 1950 in Litchfield, the daughter of John and Veronica Hebert Puckett. She graduated from Litchfield High School and married Steve Denney in Springfield in 1970. Marty retired from IDOT in 2002, where she worked as a Technical Manager. She enjoyed spending time outside in her flower garden, fishing, and spoiling her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband Steve as well as her son, Scott Denney, his wife, Christy, and their children, Parker and Addison of Springfield; her son, Matthew Denney, his wife, Ida "Jeanie", and their children, Sami and Matthew of Chatham. Also surviving are her two sisters, Missy Frioli, and her husband, Gene, of Lincoln, and Mary Westhoff, and her husband, Dick, of Litchfield; one brother, Richard Puckett, and his wife, Hellen, of Sneedville, Tennessee; and six niece and nephews.
