Mary Hallie (Mc) Alexander, was born August 26, 1934 the daughter of James L. and Hallie F. VanCleve McAlexander in Springfield, IL. She passed away May 21, 2021 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
Mary was introduced to the Episcopal Church by the Sisters of the Holy Nativity and has been a lifelong member of the Cathedral Church of St. Paul in Springfield. Over the years, her devotion to the church led her to be a choir member, hospitality group member, maintenance crew member, cursillo team member and altar guild member as well as a faithful parishioner.
Mary was happiest when serving others while giving and receiving hugs.
She is survived by many friends including Martha Bradley and Connie Lynn and her cousin.
Cremation rites have been accorded by the Bisch Crematory. A memorial Mass will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, May 27, 2021 at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul in Springfield. The Very Reverend Andy Hook will officiate. Friends are welcome to gather at the church for visitation beginning at 1:00 pm Thursday.
Inurnment will be at a later date in the Horse Creek Cemetery, Pawnee, IL
