Mary Ann "Sceater" Gronewold, 63, of Peoria, passed away at 3:15 a.m. on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Unity Point Health Methodist Hospital. Mary Ann was born on December 25, 1953 in Springfield, the daughter of Marvin W. and Margaret Van Matre Stemmel. Mary attended Springfield Southeast High School. She enjoyed calling bingo numbers at the nursing home and loved to take walks. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Allen Gronewold of Springfield; three siblings, Rhonda Grobelnik of Springfield, Verna (husband, Steve) Rowe of Joplin, MO, and Marvin (wife, Theresa) Stremmel of Independence, MO; and best friend, Dee Dee of Springfield. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies. Graveside Ceremony: 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Oak Ridge Cemetery with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating.
