

Mary Lou Brown, 83, of Springfield, formerly of Pomona, CA, died at 7:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 30, 2006 at St. John’s Hospice. Mary Lou was born May 17, 1923 in Springfield, the daughter of Charles W. and Cora Edith Felch Brown. She married Harold Brown on August 1, 1941 in Chicago. Mary Lou graduated from Springfield High School. She worked at K-Mart as a merchandise manager from 1975 until her retirement in 1989. She enjoyed reading, crosswords and listening to big band music. She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter: Patricia A. Martin in 1967. She is survived by her husband: Harold Brown of Springfield; two daughters: Esther Perry of Sun City, CA, and Liz (husband, Gary) Boston of Springfield; five grandchildren: Darrell (wife, Rosita) Holland of Powers, OR, Shelley Nassar, Lori (husband, Rich) Greenwood, and Tami DeGeare all of Hemet, CA, and David (wife, Amy) Wallace of Springfield; eleven great-grandchildren; two sisters: Elizabeth Lockwood of Springfield, and Dorothy Smith of Rochester; one brother: Charles Brown of TN; and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. A Prayer Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 3, 2006 at Camp Butler National Cemetery with, Rev.
