Mary Jane Davidson

She was born on June 25, 1939, in Springfield, the daughter of Enos A. and Mary C. (Kavanaugh) Tolan. She married Richard W. Davidson on May 5, 1962, at St. Agnes Catholic Church.

Mary Jane was raised in Pleasant Plains, IL, attending Cross Plains and Talbot Schools. She later moved to Springfield, graduated from Springfield High School, and attended Springfield Junior College. Mary Jane worked as an executive secretary several places in Springfield, including The State Journal-Register and the Director’s Office of the Illinois Department of Public Health. She belonged to the Springfield Metropolitan Junior Women’s Club and was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church.

Mary Jane is survived by her husband, her daughter, Elizabeth A. Davidson, of Chatham, IL, and her sister, Catherine A. Bisch, of Springfield. She was preceded in death by her brother, Enos A. Tolan.

Visitation: 9:30 am on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 245 North Amos Avenue, Springfield.

Funeral Mass: 10:30 am on Thursday May 7, 2026, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, with burial following at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
