

Mary E. Dombroski, 83, of Springfield, died at 5:05 a.m. on Friday, April 6, 2007 at Memorial Medical Center. Mary was born January 7, 1924 in Auburn, the daughter of Peter and Mary Pelton Rupslaukis. She married John G. Dombroski in 1943 in Springfield; he preceded her in death on June 28, 1994. Mary was a homemaker until her children were grown. She then worked for Selective Service, Housing & Urban Development and retired as an executive secretary with the National Guard. Mary was a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Catholic Daughters of America, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, A.A.R.P. and the American Lithuanian Club. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two sisters: Rose Fochtman and Helen Robinson She is survived by one daughter: Dr. Veronica (husband, Jeffrey) Speaks of Petersburg; three sons: Pete (wife, Bernadine) Dombroski and John (wife, Deej) Dambrauskas both of Springfield and Bill (wife, Tara) Dombroski of Dawson; sixteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 9, 2007 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 524 E. Lawrence Ave., Springfield with Rev. Michael Haag, celebrant. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery. The family of Mary E. Dombroski is being served by Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.
