

Mary Alice Hunt, 84, of Chatham, passed away Monday, July 17, 2017, at Memorial Medical Center. She was born August 5, 1932 in Rochester, IL, to Charles Robert and Martha Florence Hammond Anderson. She married Wilbur Keith Hunt on January 29, 1956. Mrs. Hunt retired from the Secretary of State after 20 years of service. She and her husband are members of the First Church of the Nazarene; in their younger years, they volunteered at church camp as the cooks. She enjoyed knitting and crafted many sweaters for infants, children, and deployed military. She will be greatly missed by her husband of 61 years, Wilbur; sons, William (Michelle) Hunt of Springfield and Harry (Tammy) Hunt of Chatham; grandchildren, Wesley Hunt of Springfield, Breanna Hunt, and Cody Hunt both of Chatham; step-brother, Robert (Gloria) Anderson of Rio Vista, California; several nieces, nephews and cousins.They will greet friends from 9am until the time of the funeral service at 11am, Friday, July 21, at First Church of the Nazarene, 5200 South 6th Street Frontage Road East, Springfield, IL, 62703, with Pastor Fred Prince. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to First Church of the Nazarene.
