

Mary Jean Koch, 91, of Springfield, died at 8:23 a.m. on Friday, August 11, 2017. Mary Jean was born November 1, 1925 in Colfax, the daughter of Edward and Catherine Delaney Kruse, Sr. She married George Koch on June 22, 1952 in Colfax; he preceded her in death on August 27, 2016. Mary Jean attended the University of Illinois and was employed with Allis Chalmers for nine years. She was a past member of the Springfield Womens Club, Jacksonville Country Club, and Oakcrest Ladies bowling league. She was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Charles Kruse, Edward Kruse, Jr. and James Kruse; three sisters, Eileen Kruse Maloney, Josephine Kruse Wissmiller and Lucille Kruse Brunken; and special niece, Karen Kindig. She is survived by her two daughters, Kathleen E. (husband, Robert) McClain and Nina Koch, both of Springfield; two grandsons, Robert Randle and R. Daniel McClain, both of Springfield; brother, William (wife, Judy) Kruse of CA; sister, Judith Kruse (husband, Hal) Lynch of NJ; and several nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren. Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies. Graveside Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
