Mary Jane Morris, 81, of Springfield, died at 1:20 p.m. Friday, September 23, 2005 at her residence. Mary was born January 16, 1924 in Springfield the daughter of Gerald and Gertrude Corcoran Sturgis. She married Clifford Morris in 1945 in Springfield; he preceded her in death in 1995. Mrs. Morris retired from her job as a clerk at Bachman-Keefner Drugstore in 1989. She was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, the American Legion Auxiliary and Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 32. She is survived by one brother: Edward (wife, Molly) Sturgis of Springfield; several nieces and nephews; two great-nephews; two great-nieces; one great-great-nephew and one great-great-niece. Family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, September 26, 2005 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, September 27, 2005 at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 1020 N. Milton, Springfield with Reverend Donald Meehling celebrant. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
