Mary W. Richey

Mary W. Richey, 85, of Pleasant Plains, passed away at 9:50 a.m. on Friday, June 11, 2010 at St. John's Hospital. Mary was born on June 27, 1924 in Springfield, the daughter of John Lee and Stella M. Vettel Libbey. She married Raymond N. Richey on February 26, 1944 in Wilmington, IL. He preceded her in death in August 2004. Mary attended Feitshans High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of the "23 Club" and enjoyed collecting cook books, embroidery, talking on her CB radio using her handle "Short Circuit", and talking to her friends daily on the telephone.. She was also preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her two brothers, John Lee Libbey and William E. Libbey, both of Springfield; sisters-in-law, Nancy M. Keeley and Lorraine Papol, both of Springfield, Jeanette (Forrest) Nelson of Aurora, Bette Richey of Springfield, Phyllis Richey of Decatur; brothers-in-law, Joe (Michelle) Richey, Daniel (Sharon) Richey, both of Peoria and Leroy (Margo) Campbell of Mowequa; her very good friends, Diana and Ed Skube of Springfield, several nieces and nephews; and her toy poodle, Tiny. Family will receive friends from 4:00 � 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 27, 2010 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. A funeral ceremony will be held on Monday, June 28, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
