Mary Leigh Roach of Springfield died peacefully at home on Saturday morning, January 13, 2007. She was born December 15, 1927 in Springfield, the daughter of Corwine Ewing and Henrietta Day Roach. Her parents and her brother, Robert Corwine Roach, preceded her in death. She was a life-long member of First Presbyterian Church of Springfield, a past Queen of the Springfield Art Association Beaux Arts Ball, and a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, Chapter EQ. She is survived by one niece, Kimberly Roach Poteet and three nephews, Robert Corwine Roach and his sons, Jack Henry and Charles Emile, Andrew Thomas Roach and Phillip Matthew Roach; four cousins, Kitsy Day Denby, Suzanne Day, Tony Day and Barbie Smith and sister-in-law, Rose Marie Roach Miller. Her wishes were to have her remains cremated and a graveside service held at Oak Ridge Cemetery on Saturday, January 20, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Barbie Smith officiating. Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be sent to the First Presbyterian Church in Springfield.
