Mary Ellen Ryan

Mary Ellen Ryan, 88, of Springfield, died at 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Heritage Manor. Mary was born July 28, 1924 in Jacksonville, the daughter of Frank and Irma Kepler Ryan. Mary was a 1942 graduate of Waverly High School and worked as a waitress for several years, including John's Supper Club, Black Angus, and Gatsby. She worked for Illinois Department of Revenue on a temporary basis for several years. She also had worked at the Waverly Post Office. Mary was a member of Christ the King Parish and the Disabled American Veterans. She enjoyed playing bingo, bowling, and softball. She was preceded in death by her parents and six brothers, Robert, Maurice, Paul, Donald, Gerald, and William "Pete". She is survived by her sister Rose Ryan and her brother, Richard "Mick" (Frances) Ryan both of Springfield, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation and Funeral Mass: Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday December 11, 2012 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 1930 Barberry, Springfield with Rev.
