

Mary Louise Tate, 80, of Springfield, passed away on Monday June 16, 2014 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born on January 7, 1934 in Springfield to Carl and Paula Hollerbach Bechtold. She married James Edward Tate on August 5, 1955 in Springfield and he survives.
Mrs. Tate is also survived by four children: Carol (Stephen) Tankersley of Alexander, David (Bonnie) Tate of Arlington Heights, VA., Linda (Ed) Tate-West of El Paso, IL., and Paul (Suzy) Tate of Tampa, FL., four grandchildren: Elena and Tate Tankersley, and Sarah and Erica Tate, one great-grandchild Jason Jordan, and two sisters: Agnes Toombs of Kansas and Rita (Bob) Hansen of Springfield.
Mary was a homemaker who took great pride in raising her four children. Outside of her responsibilities at home Mary worked at Lincoln Land Community College in the Literacy Department for ten years. She enjoyed playing golf and bridge, doing word puzzles, working in her garden and watching birds at her residence.
