Mary Villalobos Gandara

Mary Gandara, 73, of Chatham, formerly of Texas, passed away at Regency Healthcare, Friday, June 20, 2014. She was born February 1, 1941 in Alamo Texas, to the late Ignacio and Refugia Gonzales Villalobos, Sr. Mary married Benito Marquez Gandara and he preceded her in death in 1997. Mary�s sister and brothers-in-law, Josie and John Rodriguez, and Leon Contreras also preceded her in death. She will be greatly missed by her son, Ben Anthony, of Chatham; daughter, Monica Steele of TX; grandchildren, M. Riley Steele, Amira Anthony and Leila Anthony and their mother, Deborah; siblings, Joe (Rose Mary) Villalobos of San Antonio, TX, Magdalano (Lupe) Villalobos of Abilene, TX, Susan (Joe) DeAnda of San Antonio, TX, Ignacio (Diane) Villalobos, Jr., of Austin, TX, Mona (Herb) Coronado of Georgetown, TX, Nel Contreras of Manor, TX, Jane (Albert) Fernandez of Austin, TX. Mary was proud of her family members, especially her son, Ben and her brothers, Joe, Magdalano and Ignacio, as military veterans, for their service to the USA. Mary attended St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Chatham. Private family services were held before cremation, at Staab Polk Memorial Home, 8855 State Rt. 4, Chatham. Cremation rites will be accorded by Cremation Services of Central Illinois, Chatham. Mary�s urn will be laid to rest with her husband in Manor Catholic Cemetery in Texas.
