

Mary Catherine Warren, 96, of Auburn, died on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center. Mary was born February 18, 1919 in Riverton, the daughter of Joseph and Anna Weigand Conlon. She married Frank E. Warren on October 5, 1940; he preceded her in death on April 18, 2013. Mary was a graduate of Ursuline Academy and a homemaker. She was a member of The Church of the Little Flower for many years, and was most recently a member of Holy Cross-St. Benedicts Church in Auburn. Mary had previously belonged to three golf leagues, and still enjoyed playing golf. She enjoyed flower gardening, especially roses. She also loved cardinals and hummingbirds. In addition to her husband, Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Christina Reed, Margaret "Peg" Taylor, and Joseph Conlon; and one granddaughter, Jill King. She is survived by two sons, Steve (Phyllis) Warren of Petersburg and David Warren of Springfield; three daughters, Janice (Rod) Stewart of Chicago, Joyce Warren (Rich Newman) of Springfield, and Mary A. Warren (Sue Osthus) of Chatham; eight grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; twenty four great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral ceremony at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating.
