Mary B. Woods

Mary B. Woods, 82 of Springfield died at 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 24, 2006 at St. John’s Hospice. Mary was born August 6, 1923 in Edwardsville, the daughter of Harlan and Gladys Hotz Bartlett. She married Samuel E. Woods in September 1946 in Springfield; he preceded her in death on April 10, 1993. Mary was a graduate of Stephens College in Columbia, MO and was a Claims Processor for Western States Insurance for 18 years. She was a member of the Humane Society. She enjoyed planting flowers, bowling, dogs and all animals. Mary was a very caring, and loving lady. She was also preceded in death by her son; Samuel E. Woods Jr.; her parents and her brother, Robert Bartlett. She is survived by her son; H. Samuel Woods II of Springfield; her daughter; Mary Smith of Springfield; her brother; Harlan (wife, Cindy) Bartlett, Jr. of Edwardsville and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 5:00 –7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 27, 2006 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2006 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield with Rev. Samuel Kothapalli officiating. Cremation accorded by Cremation Tribute Center, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield following the funeral service. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Hospice, 800 E.
