

Maud Keldermans, 97, of Springfield, died peacefully at 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at her home with her loving family. Maud was born January 1, 1915 the daughter of Hippoliet and Josephine Pouliart Smets of Mechelen, Belgium. She married Raymond Keldermans on October 2, 1939, musician and former Carilloneur of the Thomas Rees Memorial Carillon. He preceded her in death in 1984. Maud taught French at the former Springfield College and was a member of St. Agnes Church. She was also a member of The Carillon Belles, Legion of Mary, and the Guild of Carilloneurs of North America. She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, George Smets; sister, Marie Therese Hofman Smets; two grandchildren, Angela Greer and Joshua Keldermans; and one great-grandson, Michael Keldermans. She is survived by her ten children, Josephine (William) Greer of Chatham, IL, William (Tos) Keldermans of Belau, Micronesia, Marlene Keldermans of Springfield, Annamaria (Randy) Beal of Avon, ME, Karel (Linda) Keldermans of Virginia, IL, Hilde Keldermans of Sedona, AZ, Kathie (Gary) Baker San Angelo, TX, Steve (Mary) Keldermans of Springfield, Frank (Kim) Keldermans of Riverside, IL, and Rita (Robert) Brozka of Fort Collins, CO; twenty-nine grandchildren, Betsy (Randy) Alley, Amy (Billy) Foster, and Bill (Erin) Greer, Esel (Miver) Keldermans, Mia and Rombout Keldermans, Kimberly and Matthew Keldermans, Shosha, Nathanial, Caleb, Sarah, and Jebediah Beal, Elizabeth Pulliam, Madeleine (Eric) Baker-Goering, Zachary, Nicholas, Ryan, and Mary Josephine Baker, Kate (Brandon) Tierney, Chris (Jessica), Anne, Jonathan, and Phillip Keldermans, Claire (Devon) Kramer, Adam and Bridget Keldermans, and Collin and Ethan Brozka; eighteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, all of Belgium. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 23, 2012 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. Concelebrated Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at St. Agnes, 245 N. Amos, Springfield with Rev. Robert Jallas, Rev. Msgr.
