Maya was born October 30, 2006, in Springfield, the daughter of Mario Alberto and Tonya Sue Burch Garcia Perez.
She attended Springfield Ball Charter School and was an excellent writer and reader. Maya enjoyed baking, building houses in Minecraft, and loved music. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her niece.
Maya is survived by her parents; siblings, Iliana Ruiz, Cheyenne Ruiz, and Mario Garcia-Perez; one niece, Lillian; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation and Funeral Mass: Family will receive friends from 11:00-11:45 a.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2021, at St. Katharine Drexel at Sacred Heart Church, 722 S. 12th St., Springfield. Funeral Mass will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Kevin Mann, S.J.C., celebrant. Due to COVID restrictions there will be limited capacity.
Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
