Meretta D Riech, 72, of Springfield, passed away at her home on Thursday, December 29, 2011. She was born on December 14, 1939 in Acton, KY, the daughter of Thomas and Joann (Spurling) Bottom. She married Frank Riech on January 18, 1956 in Mannsville, KY. Meretta is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Frank Riech, her son, Richard W. Riech, daughter Charlett D. Ryan, 3 grandsons, 1 granddaughter, 1 great-grandson, 1 great-granddaughter, all of Springfield, her sisters; Brenda Risinger and Judy Reece both of Louisville, KY. She is preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, and 2 sisters. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 2, 2012 from 5-7 p.m. at Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 E Allen St Springfield, IL 62703. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at 9 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery. Rev. Vaughn Beeman will conduct the services.
