Michael E. Brewer

Michael E. Brewer, 75, of Riverton, and North Fort Myers FL died at 10:54 p.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Memorial Medical Center. Michael was born January 3, 1938 in Riverton, the son of Dwight and Margaret Patterson Brewer. He married Christina M. O'Connor on July 11, 1964 in Riverton. Michael attended Riverton High School and Lincoln Land Community College. He proudly served our country in the United States Navy from 1956-1960 on the U.S.S. Intrepid. He had owned and operated Imperial Cleaning since 1978 and was the Superintendent of the Village of Riverton from 1976-1996. Michael was a member of St. James Parish and Knights of Columbus in Riverton. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Christina Brewer of Riverton; three sons, Brian (wife, Kellie) Brewer of Springfield, Brendan (wife, Tara) Brewer of Charlotte, NC, and Colm (wife, Dawn) Brewer of St. Louis, MO; five grandchildren, Connor, Sean, Emily, Brianna and Colton; three step-grandchildren, Drake, Cole and Ian; and one sister, Iris (husband, Anthony) Tranquilli of Riverton. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 8, 2013 at St. James Catholic Church, 112 N. 6th St., Riverton, with Rev. Msgr. David S.
