

Michael D. "Mick" Rogers, Sr., 73, of Springfield, died at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at St. Johns Hospital. Mick was born on June 27, 1944 in Decatur, the son of Alfred W. and Dorothy C. Feldworth Rogers. Mick proudly served our country in the U.S. Army. For many years, he worked as a lot attendant at Lincoln Library, Prairie Capitol Convention Center, Abraham Lincoln Museum, and Uptown Garages. He was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and loved music. Mick was preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law, Bernice Rogers; and nephew, Mason Rogers. He is survived by his sons, Michael D. Rogers, Jr., Alfred W. Rogers II, and Terry Lee Rogers; siblings, Donald L. (Mary Ann) Rogers of Pleasant Plains, William D. Rogers of Springfield, Dennis S. (Carol) Rogers of Bloomington, Diane G. Rogers of Springfield, Daniel C. "Bimbo" Rogers of McClean, Douglas L. (Chris) Rogers of Springfield, David B. (Jennifer) Rogers of Normal, Debra S. (Bill) Greenan of Springfield, and Duane A. (Rosemary Cantu) Rogers of Humble, TX; and several grandchildren. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center. Memorial Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th Street, Springfield with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
