Michael D. Starling, 55, of Springfield died at 1:32 p.m. Saturday, December 31, 2005 at St. John's Hospital. Michael was born January 18, 1950 in St. Stephens, Alabama the son of Stanford, Sr. and Velma Stoker Starling. He married Marjorie Blua on November 27, 1999 in Springfield. Mr. Starling was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during Vietnam where he received the Air Force Commendation Medal. He was currently employed by Cardinal Health in Springfield as a pharmacy technician and had previously worked as a machinist. Michael sang with the Old State Capitol Chorale and loved to spend time outdoors planting flowers. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: S.C. Starling and an infant brother. He is survived by his wife: Marjorie Starling of Springfield; stepson: Robert (wife, Laura) Judd of Waynesville; stepdaughter: Cynthia (husband, Jon) Cox of Springfield; stepgranddaughter: Kendalyn Judd; two brothers: Danny (wife, Carla) Starling and David Starling both of New Orleans; sister-in-law: Bernice Starling of Jacksonville, FL; four aunts; two uncles and one nephew: Cory Starling of New Orleans. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 8, 2006 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 9, 2006 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Chitwood officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where the Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County will conduct military honors.
