

Michael Wesley “Mike” Wainscott, 43, of Chatham, formerly of Springfield, died at 4:57 a.m. on Sunday, December 18, 2005 at Memorial Medical Center. Mike was born on February 9, 1962 in Springfield, the son of Larry S. and Bonnie L. Nichols Wainscott. He attended Illinois State University as a music major and as an accomplished musician he sometimes played in the symphony at Normal. He was employed in the restaurant business at several different establishments in Springfield. Recently, he was employed by his aunt, Frances Nichols Fielden, as a manager of her farm and properties. He was a former member of Third Presbyterian Church and a member of Sangamon County Farm Bureau. He loved gardening and was an excellent skydiver having accomplished eight hundred jumps. He was preceded in death by one brother: Larry S. Wainscott, Jr. Surviving are his parents: Mr. & Mrs. Larry (Bonnie) Wainscott of Virden; one sister: Deborah (Partner, Vicki Bough) Wainscott of Virden; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Cremation accorded by Cremation Tribute Center, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. The family will receive friends for a Memorial Gathering from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 22, 2005 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 22, 2005 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home with Scott Brindley, officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
