She was born in Springfield, IL, February 15, 1968 the daughter of Charles and Beverley (Stufflebeam) Harshaw. Michele was preceded in death by her grandparents, her father, Charles Harshaw, three aunts, Evelyn Lageman, Kathy Clark and Mary Stufflebeam.
Michele was a graduate of Springfield Lutheran High School. She married Kevin Schofield, September 6, 1997 and he survives.
Also surviving are her two sons; Joshua McGuire and Dylan Schofield, both of Auburn, IL, her mother, Beverley Harshaw of Springfield, her brother, Chuck Harshaw of Springfield, her aunt, Pat Harshaw of Springfield, two uncles; Stanley Stufflebeam of Sanford, FL, and Wayne (Donna) Harshaw of Springfield. She has several cousins.
Michele worked in accounting at Town and Country Bank, now Heartland Bank and Trust Co until her retirement in 2003 due to health concerns. She was a life member of the Springfield Ceramics and Craft Club in Springfield, where she was very active and accomplished in the art. She was a frequent customer of La Bead OH Store where she obtained her supplies for her enjoyment of jewelry making and crafting with beads. Several friends and family have benefited from her gifts of the items she created and made. She enjoyed bowling in a summer league at King Pin with her husband Kevin. Michele was a member of Auburn United Methodist Church.
The Schofield family will host a visitation at Bisch Funeral Home West 2931 S. Koke Mill Rd. Springfield, IL on Thursday, May 30, 2024 from 4-7 pm. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Friday, May 31, 2024 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.
