Michelle M. McNicholas

She was born in Bloomington, IL on July 28, 1970, the daughter of Richard and Carolyn (Zink) Schuler.

Shelly attended St. Clare Grade School in Bloomington and graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1988, formerly known as Trinity High School. She later earned her bachelor’s degree in communications from University of Illinois. She treasured her children and always supported and cheered them on in their accomplishments. Shelly also cherished her friends and enjoyed spending time with them. Shelly went on to work for State Farm as a claims representative for 25 years.

She was preceded in death by her father, Richard.

Shelly is survived by her mother, Carolyn; son, Michael McNicholas of Chicago; daughter, Meagan McNicholas of Champaign; several aunts and uncles; numerous cousins; and several special friends, including Sarah Wochner, whom she has known since grade school.

Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.

Memorial Gathering and Mass of Christian Burial: Family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 10, 2025, at Church of the Little Flower, 800 Adlai Stevenson Dr., Springfield, until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Al Kemme, celebrant.

Inurnment will be held at a later date at Calvary Cemetery.
