Mike von Behren

Mike von Behren, 67, of Springfield, died at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 26, 2018 at his residence. Mike was born on January 2, 1951 in Springfield, the son of Robert E. and Mary Louise Monier von Behren. He married Cheri M. Davis on January 20, 1979 in Las Vegas. Mike graduated from Griffin High School in 1969 and was the founder of Michael von Behren Builder, Inc. He was president of the Home Builders Association and was active on the St. Josephs Home board. Mike enjoyed golfing, gardening, working in the yard, and was an avid New York Yankees fan. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Cheri of Springfield; son, Matt (wife, Stacey) von Behren of Springfield; grandson, Otto von Behren; sisters, Vicki (husband, Ken) Vahrenhold of Florissant, MO, Donna M. Caton of Springfield, and Jean (husband, Allen) Milne of Tucson, AZ; brothers, Rev. Thomas R. von Behren, C.S.V. of Las Vegas, NV and William E. (wife, Kathleen) von Behren of Manhattan Beach, CA; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies. Memorial Mass: 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 2, 2018 at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1725 S. Walnut St., Springfield with Rev. Thomas R. von Behren, C.S.V., celebrant. Celebration of Life: The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 2, 2018 at the Conservatory at the Inn at 835, 835 S. 2nd Street, Springfield, IL.
