

Mildred V. Hotvedt, 77 of Springfield died Monday, September 22, 2003 at her home. Mildred was born December 16, 1925 in Boone, IA, daughter of William and Naoma Hogan Hayer. She married Harlan Lloyd Hotvedt; he preceded her in death on December 15, 1987. Mrs. Hotvedt operated God’s Little Children daycare and was employed part-time for Lewis Memorial Christian Village Nursing Home. She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) and the Springfield Ski and Boat Club. She was a volunteer for King’s Daughters, home for ladies. She was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: William, Alvie and Richard Hayer and two sisters: Ruby Strand and Margaret Larson. She is survived by twin daughters: JoAnne M. Carter of Springfield and Jeanne F. (husband, John) Schrader of Waterloo; one son: Harlan L. Hotvedt, Jr. of Springfield, five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three brothers: David (wife, Shirley) Hayer, Arnold Hayer both of Hoffman, MN, Lawrence (wife, Armedia) Hayer of Spokane, WA and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home from 5-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2003. Funeral services will be held at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, September 25, 2003 with Scott Brindley officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association, Midwest Chapter, Glenbrook Medical Office Bldg. South, 2050 Pfingsten Rd., Suite 127, Glenview, IL 60025.
