ADD A MEMORY
Perry and Susan Patterson

January 28, 2019

Mona was a remarkable woman, and we have many good memories of her. She married Perry's cousin Darrell Bartz in 1986, and added so much to his happiness and well being. Theirs was a strong marriage, and she was a strong woman who had a sense of fun and who made every occasion more lively. When they would come to visit Darrell's aunt (Perry's mother) at the nursing home, Mona would sit down at the piano and play tunes that would entertain everyone in the room. Her ability to care for others was remarkable. She loved her family deeply, and when she and Darrell both had serious health issues, she showed tremendous strength in dealing with her own health issues, and in faithfully taking care of Darrell. With every passing year we admired her more-- for her faithfulness, competence, good sense. and faith in God. To Mona's family: the Patterson side of Darrell's family all loved and admired her. We know you will miss her so much.

I have so many wonderful memories of Mona. She lived in Elwood just across the alley from us. My two children, Kip and Marcie spent lots of time together, especially Kip, as he and Jeff were the same age and went to school together. I cannot imagine the pain you kids are all feeling now, after losing Jeff only days earlier! The five of you were like family to us, and my one regret is that I haven't kept up on any of you these past 26 years, after we moved back home to Southern IL. Please know that you are all in my many thoughts and prayers, and I pray God will bless you all.

Mona was the definition of a true friend.
I will miss our visits when Ann and I were in the Springfield area. Loved going out to breakfast with her. She will truly be missed.

I have been a Police scanner listener for many years here in Joliet...I never met Mona but listened to her very professional voice for years...She was a real treasure to the profession and had a golden voice...She then left Joliet and i hope she had a fantastic life after... Im very sure she is in heaven and im very sorry for your loss...Ron
