

Monica Irene McEnary, 82, of Chatham, died at 12:04 a.m. on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Memorial Medical Center. Monica was born April 8, 1934 in Pana, the daughter of Laurence and Judy Vits Carter. She married Ross McEnary on April 11, 1952 in Pana; he preceded her in death on February 14, 1982. Monica was a 1952 graduate of Pana High School and spent most of her life as a homemaker. She worked part time at MCL Cafeteria and for the State of Illinois Department of Revenue. She enjoyed walking her dogs, talking to the neighbors and visiting with anyone she encountered. She was also preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Rudolph Nelson; and two infant sons, Larry and Nick McEnary. She is survived by two daughters, Cynthia and Alice McEnary, both of Springfield; several cousins; and her beloved dog, Bentley and granddogs, Dixie and Ginger. Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies. Memorial Gathering: Family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home. Graveside Ceremony: 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Camp Butler National Cemetery, with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating.
