

She is survived by two nephews: John Levalley of Springfield and Scott Brady (Robin) of Texas, two nieces: Anne Hettick of Texas and Colleen Yinger (Lynn) of Texas and she was blessed with great nieces and nephews.
Miss Brady served in various positions at the Veterans Administration, Office of Price Stabilization and retired as an Administrative Officer in 1978 from the US Department of Agriculture. She subsequently was employed at the Illinois Department of Transportation and the Illinois State Historical Library.
She served in the US Marine Corp Women’s Reserve in World War II having been assigned to the Office of the Commandant in Washington D.C. Miss Brady was a member of Springfield First United Methodist Church and a life member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
Myrtle was also a member of the Zonta Club of Springfield for over thirty years, having served as President and Treasurer. She was the leader of Willing Circle of King’s Daughters and served as Treasurer. She served as Treasurer for several organizations in Springfield including: Community Concert Association, The Women’s Club of Springfield an the Cachet Club of Springfield. Myrtle was an honorary member of the Pan Hellenic Society of Springfield, a former member of the Springfield Civic Garden Club, Friends of Lincoln Library, Memorial Medical Center, Lincoln Memorial Gardens and the Springfield Zoological Society.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30am on Friday July 10, 2026 at the Concordia Village Chapel, 4101 West Iles in Springfield and burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 9:30am until the time of service Friday at Concordia.
