Nancy D. Eck

Nancy D. Eck, 59, of Springfield, passed away at 2:36 a.m. on Friday, December 21, 2018, in the comfort of her home. Nancy was born May 27, 1959, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Donald and Rosemary Nash McCoy. Nancy married Thomas W. Eck on February 14, 1987, at Third Presbyterian Church in Springfield. Nancy was a graduate of Jacksonville High School. After high school, she attended cosmetology school and went on to own and operate Hair Dimensions Salon. She then became the activity director for Oak Terrace and later the social service director for Regency Nursing Home. She enjoyed gardening, time at the lake, and spending time with her friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her beloved husband, Tom Eck of Springfield; two sons, Rickey Wheeler of Riverton and Troy Wheeler of Springfield; daughter, Morgan (Ryan) Welch of San Diego, CA; two grandchildren, Hayley Wheeler and Jade Wheeler, both of Riverton; brother, Delbert (Linda) McCoy of Bradenton, FL; sister, Marla (David) Nunes of Quincy; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 27, 2018, at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th Street, Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 28, 2018, at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
