Nancy J. Marti

She was born in Edwardsville on July 24, 1934, the daughter of Leslie and Leona (Davis) Wieduwilt. Nancy married Vernon F. Marti in Edwardsville on January 23, 1959.

Nancy graduated from Edwardsville High School and later earned her bachelor’s degree from DePaul School of Nursing. She worked for various doctors’ offices, the sanatorium, CPA office in Edwardsville, and Hedonist Shoe Company in Little Rock, AR. In her spare time, Nancy enjoyed playing cards, gambling, reading books, solving puzzles, and knitting and crocheting.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vernon; daughter, Monica Knight; sister, Janet Poyner; and brother, Kenneth Wieduwilt.

Nancy is survived by her sons, Joe Marti of Alhambra, IL and Tom (Kara) Marti of Katy, TX; daughters, Joann Marti of Hamel, IL, and Teresa Marti of Waverly, IL; siblings, Les (Priscilla) Wieduwitt of Roseville, CA and Kay Webber; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

The family will host a Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 29, 2025, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1802 Madison Ave., Edwardsville.
