Neal Burris

Neal Burris, 74, of Sherman, passed away at 8:03 p.m. Wednesday, November 27, 2002 at Memorial Medical Center. Neal was born April 13, 1928 the son of Frank and Winniferd Brashears Burris in Sandsprings, Oklahoma. He married Diane Thomas Rhodes February 14, 1987 in Sherman. Neal was employed as a truck driver for Teamster Local 916 retiring in 1988 after 30 years of service. He was also a seasonal worker for Hilltop Nursery in Spaulding. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WWII. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, John Elbert Burris and one sister Marie Kay. He is survived by his wife: Diane of Sherman; eight children: Kevin Burris, Keith Burris both at home, David (wife, Deanna) Burris of AR, Nelson Burris of Chickasha, OK, Nelma Burris of Okmulgee, OK, Nolan Burris of Canada, Tracy Hendrickson of Litchfield, Troy (wife, Camille) Burris of Keyston, IA; two sisters: Verna Dalbero of Murietta, CA, Katherine Stanley of CA; one brother: Kenneth (wife, Martha) Burris of Jacksonville Beach, FL; fifteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorial services will be at 5:00 p.m. Friday, December 6, 2002 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home with Scott Brindley officiating. There will be a gathering following the memorial service at the Burris residence. Memorial contributions may be made to the family of Neal Burris.
