She was born in Springfield on April 24, 1995.
Despite her lifelong struggle with Friedreich’s Ataxia, Nichole earned her associate’s degree from Lincoln Land Community College and was recently pursuing her bachelor’s degree in communication at University of Illinois Springfield. She loved reading good books and watching her shows. She enjoyed sharing her thoughts through blogging on her site, The Broken P Ranch and her online cookbook, Sweetened By Nichole. In her free time, Nichole could often be found shopping at Hobby Lobby or sipping on her favorite Starbucks Caramel Macchiato.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dennis J. Sheley; and grandparents, James H. and Patricia A. Sheley.
Nichole is survived by her mother, Patricia J. Sheley; birth parents, David and Virginia Fugate; brother, Braden Bristow; aunt, Jennifer (James) Lorton; uncles, Daniel (Trisha) Sheley and Patrick (Shannon) Fugate; grandparents, Lee and Lila Fugate; and several cousins.
Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at Butler Funeral Home- Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, until the time of the Ceremony at 11:00 a.m. with Chaplain James Feagans officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Bluffs, IL.
