

Norma Jean Imhoff, 73, of Chatham, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2009 at her home. Norma was born August 7, 1935 in Peoria, the daughter of Charles and Florence Belfield Lugeanbeal. She married Kenneth Imhoff on November 24, 1957 in Metamora. Norma graduated from E. Peoria Community High School and became an R.N. through Mennonite Hospital in Bloomington. She served as Director of Nursing at Doctor's Hospital for five years and as Charge Nurse in Springfield for nearly thirty years. Norma was a member of the Red Hat Society, Fit Club, Peoria Women's Club, and the Cancer Society. She was a tremendous cook, talented seamstress, and a devoted, unconditionally loving grandmother to her four grandchildren. An involved member of 7th Day Adventist Christian Church, she provided food for many of their functions. Fond of family gatherings, Norma also enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening. Norma is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Ken Imhoff of Chatham; her children, Kevin Wayne (wife, Julie) Imhoff of Springfield and Nancy Imhoff of Chatham; grandchildren, Nathan and Kevin A. Imhoff, Drew and Anna Moore; siblings, Don (wife, Sandy) Lugeanbeal of E. Peoria, Arlene (husband, Bob) Jones of San Jose, CA, and Marlene Parrish of Pahrump, NV; and several nieces, and nephews. Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center. A memorial ceremony will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at 7th Day Adventist Christian Church, 3300 W Jefferson St, Springfield with Pastor John Stanton officiating. Burial will take place at Hickory Point Cemetery, west of Metamora, at a later date.
