Norma L. O'Neal

She was born on October 14, 1925 in Springfield, the daughter of the late George Bernard and Florence (Seward) Hartshorn. She married Vernon E. “Buck” O’Neal on March 9, 1943 in Las Vegas, NV and he preceded her in death in 1995.

Mrs. O’Neal was a homemaker. She was a lifetime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Springfield.

Survivors include a son, Mike (wife Annette) O’Neal of Springfield, a daughter, Christi (husband Jon) McCormick of Springfield, 7 grandchildren, Michelle (husband Tom) O’Neal-Babicky of Riverton, IL, Tammy (husband David) Spearie of Springfield, Andrea (husband Marquise) Boyce of Chicago, IL, Erica O’Neal of Springfield, Zac McCormick of Seffner, FL, Cayti McCormick of Springfield, and Grant McCormick of Springfield, 3 great-grandsons and 1 great-great-granddaughter, plus extended family and friends.

Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her great-grandson.

Services are under the direction of Bisch Funeral Home West, 2931 S. Koke Mill Rd., Springfield, IL 62711 where visitation will be held on Monday, Nov. 1, 2010 from 4 to 7 pm. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010 at 10:30 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield.
