Norman was born November 2, 1946, in Belleville, IL, the son of Thomas and Elizabeth Glover Bertrand.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a landlord for several properties. Norman was always building things and tinkering on cars. He also enjoyed photography, bidding in auctions, going to vintage car shows, and spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and half-sister, Barbara Curtis.
Norman is survived by his children, Marcus Bertrand of Petersburg, Michael (Melissa) Bertrand of Port St. Lucie, FL, Mason Bertrand of Auburn, Mattison Bertrand of Springfield, McKenzie Bertrand of Springfield, and Makayla Bertrand of Springfield; eighteen grandchildren with one on the way; one half-brother, James B. Clark, Jr.; and six stepsiblings.
Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
Private family ceremonies were held.
