Olga M. Hitt, 80, of Springfield, died at 11:40 p.m. on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at St. John's Hospital. Olga was born July 31, 1931 in Havana, the daughter of Benjamin L. and Ida M. Reichle Williams. She married James Brown Hitt, Jr. in 1975 in New Berlin. He preceded her in death on February 5, 1994. Olga was a graduate of Lanphier High School and worked in management for several hotels and health clubs. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, crocheting, knitting, bird watching, crafts, and board games. She was also preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her sons, Russell Bentler and Raymond Bentler, both of Springfield; one daughter Rhonda Denner of Annapolis, MD; five step-children: J. Brown Hitt III, Charles T. Hitt, W. Benjamin Hitt, Mary Hitt Davis, and Libby Shelley; thirteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Jane. Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center. Private family ceremonies will be held at a later date.
