Olive Stout, 92, of Springfield, died at 2:58 a.m., Saturday, October 1, 2005 at Sunrise Manor Health Care Center in Virden. Olive was born on January 19, 1913 in Ashland the daughter of Oliver and Margaret Arden Cavender Stout. She married Ira Gard; he preceded her in death. Mrs. Stout worked as a secretary for Klein, Brown and Carter where she retired in December 1984. She also worked part-time at Nursing Home Managers. She was also preceded in death by her parents and brother, David Stout. She is survived by good friend Mamie Casher of Springfield. Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 4, 2005 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Meehling officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Hospital Hospice Program, 800 E.
