

Orville Lee Lindsey, 89, of Bath, IL, died at 2:45 a.m. on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Orville was born July 29, 1919 in Alexander, IL, the son of William and Cora Lee Beavers Lindsey. He married Opal Cooper and she preceded him in death in 1949. He later married Mavis Meyers and she preceded him in death in 1996. Orville was a member of United Baptist Church in New Berlin where he previously served as a deacon. He farmed in the Ashland, Pleasant Plains and Alexander areas for over fifty years. Orville enjoyed bowling and participated in leagues in Waverly, Pleasant Plains and Loami. Orville also enjoyed fishing, playing baseball in his younger days, and was an avid Cardinals fan. He was also preceded in death by four sisters and four brothers. He is survived by his nieces, nephews and many friends who are considered family. Visitation will be held from 5:00 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 17, 2009 at McCullough-Delaney and Butler Funeral Home, 714 E. Gibson, New Berlin. An additional visitation will be held from 9:00 until time of funeral ceremonies at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2009 at United Baptist Church, 600 W. Birch, New Berlin with Rev.
