Pamela Sue Godsey, a beloved mother, nanny, great grandma, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 27th at 2:45 PM, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Terre Haute, IN, Pam was a proud graduate of Gerstmeyer High School, where she laid the foundation for a life filled with love, care, and dedication to others.
Pam was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Carolyn Shelton, and her cherished brothers, Brad and Bart Shelton. Though her family has experienced loss, the love she shared with them remains a guiding light in their lives.
Pam spent many years as a devoted day care provider, operating her own in-home day care from 1974 to 2000. She touched the lives of countless children and their families, offering warmth, kindness, and a nurturing spirit that will be remembered by all who knew her.
In her life, Pam found joy in the company of her beloved dogs, Princess and Puppy Blue, who brought her comfort and happiness. She is survived by her four loving children: Tami Uhlig (Brent) of Pawnee, IL; Tonya Wolkitt (Joe) of Las Vegas, NV; Edward Godsey III of Manitou Springs, CO; and Erica Edwards (William) of Pueblo, CO. Her brother Brian Shelton of Terre Haute, IN. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Carolyn Shelton, Matthew Brosman, Emily Shelton, Morgan Godsey, and Evelyn Godsey, Dylan Edwards, as well as her great-grandchildren, Lyla Garfield, Matthew Brosman Jr.
Pam’s warmth, kindness, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory and the beautiful impact she had on their lives. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a donation to a local animal shelter in Pam’s name, as her love for animals was a cherished part of her life.
Rest in peace, mom. You will forever remain in our hearts.
