She was born in Springfield, September 23, 1958 the daughter of Farrell C. and Barbara Ann (Ryan) Jacobs Sr., granddaughter of Lloyd Christopher and Ann Farrell Jacobs. She was preceded in death by both her parents and grandparents.
Pam was a graduate of Chatham Glenwood High School and earned her Radiography degree from Lincoln Land Community College. She began her career with St. John’s Hospital serving there as an X-Ray technician for many years before retiring. Pam would return to St. John’s Hospital combining computer technology skills with her Radiography in consulting work to continue contributions to her profession.
PJ’s passions were family, landscaping, travel, good books, and mysteries. Family birthdays and holidays were always a priority, a time to gather for celebration. Highlights of her year were the annual St. Patrick's Day parade, and Ryan Family (‘Christmas’) Reunion where she celebrated her Irish heritage in sharing time together, reminiscing and creating new memories with the family.
While beautifying her home brightened the local area, she was drawn to the wider world. Pam’s passion for travel took her to Ireland, the United Kingdom, Australia, and her favorite place, New Zealand. She was also an advocate for the men and women of our Armed Forces, spending many hours as a volunteer preparing and shipping care packages to those serving overseas.
Her love of mystery paved the way for her to become an avid Murderino (true crime enthusiast) at heart, as she loved the challenge of solving cases. Much of her shared time with followers in the family was spent delving into the stories, acknowledging the tragedy, while taking away a different perspective on how to approach our own lives.
Surviving are her brother, Farrell C. “Chris” Jacobs Jr. of Chatham, IL; three nieces: Jean Marie (Thomas) Sharp, of Westmont, IL; Ane Leigh (Jesse Martinez) Jacobs of Northlake, IL; and Miranda Nichole (Kyle) Henderson of Chatham, IL; nephew, Robert Lloyd Jacobs of Chatham, IL; step-sister, Anna Marie (Don) Schieferdecker of Rushville, IL; half-sister, Lori Kay (Rick) Demick of St. Louis, MO; several great nieces, nephews and a multitude of beloved cousins.
