Patricia "Baldy" Ann Crawford

Patricia "Baldy" Ann Crawford, age 89, passed to the other side at Memorial Medical Center, with her family by her side on Sunday, March 12, 2017. Pat was born March 29, 1927 in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Alex and Ruth Schumann. She married George L. Crawford, Jr. in 1948. They later divorced and he preceded her in death. Pat graduated as a registered nurse from St. Luke's School of Nursing in 1948. She retired from Memorial Medical Center after more than 25 years of service in the psychiatric department. She was a devoted Cubs fan and when they won the World Series, she said, "My life is complete!" Pat was a breast cancer survivor. She enjoyed travel and loved dogs, including "Snoopy." She was a lover and giver of life. Her proudest and most joyous role was as a mother. She lived for her children, being a friend and nurturer to them. Pat had many friends, most long gone ahead of her. She will be greeted in heaven by many loved ones. She will be deeply missed. Pat was preceded in death by her parents; son, George "Corky" Crawford; sister, Dorothy Goldsmith; and brother, Frederick Schumann. She is survived by her daughters, Catherine Crawford (Lou Henderson) and Nancy Crawford (Leanna Lange); grandchildren, Chad Richardson (Melissa Smith) and Jolyn Tomlin; great- granddaughter, Kinley Richardson; five furry grandchildren, Gabby, Bear, Miah, Eileen, and Mookie; nieces, Vicky Goldsmith (Mary Bosak) and Debby Sercel (John); her dear friends, Pat Abney, Kimola Muir, and Bob Fickes; and caregiver, Joy Francis. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies. Memorial Gathering & Ceremony: The family will receive guests from 11:00 a.m. until the time of ceremony at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th Street, Springfield, with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating.
