

She was born on January 16, 1942, in Springfield, the daughter of James H. and Alice M. (Gibberson) Grady.
Patricia graduated from Sacred Heart Academy and earned her associate’s degree from Robert Morris University. She went on to work as a legislative assistant for 35 years. Patricia was a member of Church of the Little Flower, Ski Club, and Eagles Committee Precinct, and volunteered at the Animal Protective League. She was an artist that enjoyed painting with chalk and watercolors, and also delighted in dancing, bowling, and golfing. Patricia was a strong-willed, dedicated, and driven Democratic supporter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Madonna Josephine Sutter, Pauline Fuchs, Alice “Chickie” Spisak, and Colleen Sullivan; and step-child, David Caruso.
Patricia is survived by her children, James (Jen) Caruso of Rochester, Angela (Jason) Derhake of Divernon, and Mike Caruso of Springfield; grandchildren, Catherine, Joseph, and William Derhake, and Jaymz and Skylor Caruso; step-grandchild, Natalie Poe; and great-grandchild, Adalena Caruso.
Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center, prior to ceremonies.
Memorial Gathering and Mass: Family will receive friends from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at Church of the Little Flower, 800 Adlai Stevenson Dr., Springfield. Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m., with Rev. Peter Chineke officiating.
A private family burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
