Patricia L. Kristoff, 79, a lifelong resident of Springfield, died at 8:44 p.m. on Friday, September 21, 2007 at St. John’s Hospice. Patricia was born on February 20, 1928 in Springfield, the daughter of Ralph Leroy and Helen Timlick Sample, who preceded her in death. She married John Kristoff on July 30, 1949 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church; he preceded her in death on January 18, 2006. Patricia was a member of The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. She retired from Illinois Bell Telephone Company where she had been employed as a telephone operator for ten years. She is survived by one brother, Rhett Sample of Auburn and several nieces and nephews. The family welcomes friends to visit from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 24, 2007 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 524 E. Lawrence, Springfield with Rev. Michael Haag celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
