

Patricia Shannon Macdonald, 88, of Springfield, passed away surrounded by her family on Sunday evening, January 27, 2013 at Carle Hospital. Patricia was born February 7, 1924 in Canton, OH, the daughter of James A. and Grace Gonder Dacy. Patricia was a graduate of Ursuline Academy. She worked for the Illinois Department of Revenue and retired from there. She was a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and the Legion of Mary. Patricia's greatest desire was to love God, live a religious life, be a loving mother and have a large family. She enjoyed dancing, playing cards, baking, and spending time with her friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, James A. Dacy Jr. She is survived by three sons, Gregory Macdonald and Scott Macdonald both of Springfield, and Mark (wife, Carol) Macdonald of Rantoul; three daughters, Barbara (husband, Robert) White of Stafford, VA, Cynthia Connolley-Miller of Colorado Springs, CO, and Sandra McDonald of Orlando, FL; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two nieces, Sally Hays and Cheryl Dacy and several cousins. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 10:30 until 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Mass: 12:00 noon on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 524 E. Lawrence, Springfield, with Rev. Peter Harman, celebrant.
