Trish was born on May 6, 1960, in Springfield, Illinois. She attended the Little Red School House and other schools with expertise in special education in Springfield. She was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Church, where she was baptized and confirmed. Trish was also well known for her championship swimming at Special Olympic competitions, and she served as a volunteer at St. John’s Hospital.
However, she is perhaps best known for touching the lives of so many of the people she met. Her joy, happiness, and love were contagious, as the many communications she and her family received during her recent illness suggest. The number of cards and other expressions of affection was amazing. Everyone wanted to know “How’s Trish doing?” and many of these notes had one thing in common—stories of how Trish had enriched their lives. She had that effect on so many.
After her father’s death, Trish moved with her mother to live with family in Saint Louis, a new location that for a devoted Cardinals’ fan like her couldn’t have been better. She rarely missed a game, often attending them in person. She participated in a bowling league, quickly developing a large group of friends attracted to her charismatic personality. So many of these friends and family members discovered that around Trish their troubles seemed easy to forget. She filled rooms with happiness.
After the death of her beloved mother, she began to winter in Florida with her family and moved to Port St. Lucie ten years ago. She was pre-deceased by her mother Edith (Heme) and her father Harry (Herm) and also by her brother Mike and her uncle Paul Terril and her aunt Barbara Terril (godmother). Her favorite cousins, Charles Pennell (godfather) and William Pennell (first cousin), and many other aunts, uncles, and cousins also pre-deceased her.
Trish is survived by her sister Suzanne DeLay (Troy) of Jacksonville, Illinois; her brothers Terry of Land o’ Lakes, Florida, Tom (Lisa Roof) of Port St. Lucie, and Joe (Leslie) of Tampa. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Sue Terril of Springfield and Sally Terril of St. Charles, Missouri; by Amy Eller (Greg) of Springfield, Caryn Ingle (Jay) of Spring Hill, Florida, Michelle Terril (Rob Watt) of Pittsburgh, Gigi Terril of New York City, and Drew Terril of Port St. Lucie; and by other cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025 from 11:00am to 1:30pm followed by a service at 1:30pm at Bisch Funeral Home West, 2931 Koke Mill Road. A brief graveside service will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery at 2:30pm.
