

Pat was born December 8, 1947, in Buffalo, NY, the son of Joseph F. and Lorraine Craver Leonard. He married Mary Kim Kelso on October 4, 1974, in Springfield.
Pat attended Springfield High School and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. After leaving the Army, he earned his bachelor’s degree from Sangamon State University. Pat was employed by Capitol Machinery Company/Altorfer CAT, Inc. as a chief finance officer until his retirement in 2009. He was a member of the Firefighters Postal Lake Club, Panther Creek Country Club, and The Boyz from Illinois. Pat loved spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren. Pat also enjoyed spending time in Hawaii, taking care of his home and family, and riding on his motorcycle.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pat is survived by his wife, Kim; children, Patrick Thomas (fiancé, Debbie) Leonard of Decatur, Jennifer (Tom) Frescura of Springfield, and Kurt (Misty) Leonard of Chatham; grandchildren, Kate, Madelyn, Elizabeth, Emma, Abigail, and Jasmine; brother, Joseph (Rita) Leonard of Chatham; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at Butler Funeral Home-Chatham, 8855 State Route 4, Chatham, IL. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m.
Funeral Ceremony: 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at Butler Funeral Home-Chatham, with Rev. Jeff Grant of Blessed Sacrament Parish officiating.
Burial will follow at Chatham Memorial Cemetery.
