Patrick was born on August 10, 1982, and raised in Springfield, Illinois. He graduated from Little Flower School and Sacred Heart-Griffin High School. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Purdue University and a Master's degree in Computer Science from University of Illinois Springfield.
Patrick is survived by his parents, Steve and Lynn Scott, and his sisters, Anna Scott (Jack) Farrell and Kate Scott (Joe) Siebenaler, all of Springfield. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews -- Hugo and Ita Farrell and Joseph, Annie, Grace, Juliet and Penelope Siebenaler -- many aunts and uncles, dozens of cousins, and many dear friends and colleagues, all part of his loving family. He was preceded in death by his infant brother, Robbie, and his grandparents, Robert and Mary Scott and John and Ann Francis.
Patrick’s talents were myriad. He moved to Winter Park, Colorado, in 2010 to work as a systems analyst and developer. He was promoted to the Denver headquarters of Alterra Mountain Co., formerly Intrawest, in 2015. He had a dynamic career as a lead software architect for Alterra, where he was described as having "created a lively and respected legacy.” He was recognized by his coworkers for his technical brilliance, generosity, creativity, calm demeanor and grand humor.
He was also a gourmet chef who hosted many events for friends and family, who always awaited his precisely prepared and presented dishes. Patrick was a warm and welcoming spirit and went out of his way to help those needing a hand.
He enjoyed celebrating holidays and his favorite sports teams. He was a Colorado Rockies season ticket holder for the last ten years and a member of the Denver Chicago Bears fans. He loved the outdoors, from boating and wakeboarding on Lake Springfield to hiking, camping and snowboarding in the Rocky Mountains and around the world. He and close friends snowboarded in Sapporo, Japan, and heli-boarded in Alaska and Reykjavik, Iceland.
Patrick served the community through scouting, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout, and volunteered helping young adults. He appreciated music, playing the saxophone and leading his high school band as drum major.
Patrick’s funeral mass and visitation will be held at Little Flower Church on January 13, 2026, with visitation from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. and mass at 11 a.m. The celebrant is the Reverend Al Kemme.
