Paul Edward Donovan

Paul Edward Donovan, 66, of Springfield, died on July 2, 2009. Paul was born June 8, 1943 in Springfield, the son of Edward and Kathyrn (Downey) Donovan. They preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Ursela DeAnn Jones and brother, Patrick D. "Zeb" Donovan. Paul was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a lifelong resident of Springfield and was of the Catholic faith. Paul was an avid fan of NASCAR and the Chicago Cubs. He was a true family man who spoiled his dogs and loved his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of forty-three years, JoAnn (Simonavich) of Springfield; his children, Chris (husband, Rick) Austin of Springfield, Connie (husband, Mike) Vaughn of Rochester, Kathy (husband, Richard) Pasley, Tracey Donovan, and Joseph (fianc, Michelle) Donovan, all of Springfield; grandchildren, Rik, Nick, Katy Austin, Mikel, Shelly, Brittany Vaughn, Brooke, Blake Pasley, Corey, Celsey, and Kaylee Donovan; great-grandchildren, Haylee, Alexa, Amarion, and Cameron; several nieces, nephews, cousins; and beloved dogs, TJ and JJ. Visitation will be from 5:00 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th Street, Springfield. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center. A memorial ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2009 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Chiola officiant.
